Dear Friend,

Summer Sermon Series on the Fruit of the Spirit –
                                                  Spiritual Formation

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against things like this.”
 Galatians 5:22-23 (CEB)
Spiritual Formation:
“the process of being shaped according to the image of Christ by
the gracious working of the Holy Spirit”
M. Robert Mulholland Jr.
Our Purpose…
Spiritual Formation is the process by which people are shaped by God’s love and enabled to grow in their faith. We are spiritually formed through practices such as prayer, study, fasting, worship, and other disciplines.
Spiritual growth is vital to the health of any congregation. At our Church, we pride ourselves on the quality of our worship experiences, but we also realize that spiritual growth takes work beyond participation in a worship service. Therefore, continue offering insight on each of the “Fruit of the Spirit” as the foundation for an understanding of Spiritual Formation.
During this time, we will be sharing practices of Spiritual disciples, which later in the full will be go more in depth.
We just want to invite you to join us and open yourself to God’s possibilities to grow in our discipleship journey. Please join us, it will be a fun ride.
Praise for God’s grace and rescue, and a commitment to serve God and proclaim God’s justice…
We do not have to live according to the desires of our corrupt nature, but we have received God’s Spirit who assures us that we are God’s children, not just for our sakes, but for all of creation that yearns for God’s children to be revealed.

Prayer
Jesus Christ, our Peace, our Cornerstone, we come from a world of division longing for the promise and good news of your peace. Remind us again of your work of reconciliation- reconciliation that breaks down the barriers of hatred in our communities and our own lives, and between nations and peoples.
Make of us a place of belonging and peace, where you may dwell in joy, in the name of the God of Sure Promises and of the indwelling Spirit. Amen.

Dear Friends,
We are preparing for our last PADS night for the summer. We are pretty well set for Saturday night lunches, Dinner and set-up. The Wixson crew, et.al are pretty much the workforce. Lou Ann and Gerry have agreed to captain the Dinner and set-up. We have a lot of need for overnight care and Sunday breakfast and clean-up. Please see the time sign-up sheet and check if you can help us one more time.
Thanks so much!
Pastor Luis
