Dear Friend,

Summer Sermon Series on the Fruit of the Spirit –
                                                  Spiritual Formation

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against things like this.”
 Galatians 5:22-23 (CEB)
Spiritual Formation:
“the process of being shaped according to the image of Christ by
the gracious working of the Holy Spirit”
M. Robert Mulholland Jr.
Our Purpose…
Spiritual Formation is the process by which people are shaped by God’s love and enabled to grow in their faith. We are spiritually formed through practices such as prayer, study, fasting, worship, and other disciplines.
Spiritual growth is vital to the health of any congregation. At our Church, we pride ourselves on the quality of our worship experiences, but we also realize that spiritual growth takes work beyond participation in a worship service. Therefore, we continue offering insight on each of the “Fruit of the Spirit” as the foundation for an understanding of Spiritual Formation.
During this time, we will be sharing practices of Spiritual disciples, which later in the full will be go more in depth.
We just want to invite you to join us and open yourself to God’s possibilities to grow in our discipleship journey. Please join us, it will be a fun ride.

Prayer
Believing you exist to save us, Holy One, we think we can do or say anything we want, no matter the consequences; we can speak any words that are on our lips, no matter how much they hurt those we love; we can hoard everything, and anything, we wish, no matter how much need others have in their lives.
Yet you choose to redeem us, God of imaginative justice, not so we can keep living the lives we have, but so we might be transformed into those who praise you, not just with our songs, but with hands that lift others to their feet, with hearts that love those ignored by the world, and with hope that has been planted deep within us by the Master Gardener, Jesus Christ, our Brother. Amen.

Dear Friends,
We are preparing for our last PADS night for the summer. We are pretty well set for Saturday night lunches, Dinner and set-up. The Wixson crew, et.al are pretty much the workforce. Lou Ann and Gerry have agreed to captain the Dinner and set-up. We have a lot of need for overnight care and Sunday breakfast and clean-up. Please see the time sign-up sheet and check if you can help us one more time.
Thanks so much!
Pastor Luis
