2020 Auction – Sunday, February 16th

First UMC Lombard 30th Annual Auction

Save the date:  Sunday, February 16, 2020 


The Auction Season is in full swing! The Great Gatsby Crew is putting on a Roaring Good Time for Missions at the 30th Annual Auction and Dinner on Sunday, February 16. Be sure this very special event is on your calendar. The Silent Auction, begins at 4:00pm; Dinner is at 5:00pm: and the Live Auction begins 6:00pm.  
 
Dinner tickets and event sign-ups begin on Sunday, January 26. If you plan to host an event, please turn in your donation form ASAP to Denise Karhoff King or Susan Friend so we can promote the event and create the sign-up sheets!
 
Your active support is needed to enable FUMC to make a meaningful contribution to the outreach and ministries of the United Methodist Church!
 
What can you do??
Host an event – It doesn’t have to be a huge affair. Offer a meal or gathering for 2
people if you can.   It doesn’t have to be big or fancy, just provide a place to eat and visit.   Take a few people out to eat. You don’t even have to cook, clean, or tidy up!
Be a sponsor. Simply write a check marked “auction sponsor” and turn it in to Susan Friend.
Offer an item for auction.
If you can cook, bake or make something, please do it!
Buy something and donate it.
Buy a gift card or certificate and donate it!
If you can offer a service – car detailing, wash windows, do yard work, or if you have a special skill that you can share, offer it up! Someone would
     appreciate the chance to bid on it!
Sign up for events – They are a fun way to get better acquainted with people and food is usually involved, if not the main feature, so events are winners!
Buy items at the auction – for yourself and for others!
Come to the auction, bid on items and have fun cheering on the other bidders!

The Auction Dinner will be a meatloaf dinner with potatoes and gravy, vegetable du jour, relish tray, and a decadent dessert. Stop by The Plaza for tasty ala carte treats and
beverages. Put on your Roaring 20’s attire and enjoy raising funds to support the missions of the United Methodist Church.
(Be sure you are wearing something that allows you to raise your arm freely to place your bids!)
Don’t forget to bring your friends, family, and neighbors! They can help us raise more funds!

“Gatsby wear” from the First UMC Costume Closet will be available for you to look through on Sunday, January 19.   Take what you need –  reuse, remake, restyle, re-imagine…

Cash donations will be accepted if you wish.
